Ekiti State Makes Statement on Opening Day of National School Sports

Ekiti State’s contingent has made a remarkable start at the Basic Education School Sports competition, currently underway in Abuja. The team’s impressive performance has set the tone for a promising outing.

In Table Tennis, Ekiti State’s Kolade Eniola have made it to the finals in the girls categories. While Audu Ahmed also secured a spot in the finals of Game of the Intellectual {Ayo Olopon} in the boys category.

On the football pitch, Ekiti State’s contingent delivered a stellar performance, playing two matches on the same day. The team’s first match against Bayelsa ended in a goalless draw.

However, they bounced back with an emphatic 3-0 victory over FCT (Abuja), securing four points in the group stage. Juwon Olaniyi scored the first goal, while Samuel Bello netted two goals, sealing the win for Ekiti State.

Ekiti State is grouped alongside Osun, FCT, Nasarawa, Taraba, and Bayelsa in Group A.
